The Gainesville ISD Education Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended. Its mission is to enrich educational opportunities for Gainesville Independent School District students and staff through fundraising, grants, scholarships, innovative programs, recognition initiatives, and community partnerships.

The Foundation shall seek to generate and distribute private resources that supplement and enhance educational opportunities within GISD and shall promote excellence, innovation, achievement, and community involvement in education.

Goals and Activities

The Foundation shall fulfill its mission by:

• Providing Innovative Grants to support creative, innovative, and enriching educational opportunities for GISD students.

• Recognizing Teachers and Staff through awards and recognition programs celebrating excellence, innovation, dedication, leadership, and outstanding contributions to GISD.

• Recognizing Students through awards, scholarships, recognition programs, and other initiatives celebrating achievement, leadership, character, service, creativity, and growth.

• Strengthening Community Partnerships by engaging local businesses, organizations, alumni, families, civic groups, and community members in supporting educational opportunities and increasing private support for GISD.

• Maintaining a Visible Community Presence by promoting the Foundation, its mission, programs, accomplishments, and opportunities for community involvement and philanthropic support.

• Providing Supplemental Support for educational programs and opportunities that enhance the student and staff experience and supplement, rather than replace, the District's ordinary operational funding.

Independent Organization

The Foundation shall operate as an independent nonprofit organization while maintaining a collaborative relationship with GISD for the benefit of its students and staff. Foundation funds shall be governed, managed, and awarded by the Foundation's Board of Directors in accordance with these Bylaws, applicable law, and the Foundation's charitable purpose.
